Convergenze has Successfully Completed the Project Fiber to the Home (FTTH)

Convergenze S.p.A. is proud to announce that the first FTTH plant has been built near our new headquarters. 
We would like to thank the following national and international companies for their invaluable help:

  • Fibernet S.r.l. (www.fibernet.it) for installing the system of distribution in passive fiber
  • Zhone Inc. (www.zhone.com) for providing GPON 2.5 Gbps active and passive equipment
  • DimensionData (www.dimensiondata.com/it) for their system integration

The technology we have chosen is the GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network), which allows us to reach customers at distances of 30km and to install passive switches, decreasing the necessity to invest in fiber on the territory. 
The intervention involved 24 housing units recently built, which will enable the acceleration of the development of performance standards and ensuring quality is not available with any other technology. 
The services we will offer are ConvFTTH (Fiber To The Home) for residential with 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed, and ConvFTTH for business with symmetrical 100 Mbps speed.
This technology will allow a real Triple Play service (Internet, Phone and TV) on the same means of communication without compromising quality. 
The economic analysis resulting from this project will be the basis for the proposition of interventions on a wider geographical area aiming to bridge the technological gap in our community, projecting 
it into the future of telecommunications services.
